CHAMBER MEMBERS LEARN ABOUT UPGRADES AT THE GRAND REGAL AND GOLDSTON'S BEACH

Recap of the April After Hours Meeting

About 30 Chamber Members enjoyed light refreshments and music as they gathered for a tour of the upgrades and additions to the Grand Regal, Goldston's Beach, and Venue properties. A wonderful food board greeted the attendees with local musician Darren Wheeless playing live music in the Glass Lounge.

Jake Womble reviewed some of the changes that the property has gone through since the last time the Chamber had a gathering there including the opening of the Glass Bottom lounge and upgrades to the Arcade games with a new snack bar.

The group was then led in the Charlie Daniels Gallery, due to open on May 13 with a ribbon cutting. The gallery includes a variety of memorabilia that spans the singer/ songwriter's life. Jake explained that White Lake and the Goldston family had a special place in Daniel's heart.

Before touring the renovations to the Venue, an event space, Elizabeth Branham talked about the importance of all the properties and businesses working together to create a memorable experience for their guest. She suggested that more collaboration can only increase the tourism impact on the county's economy.

After touring the Venue with its remarkable bridal suite, the crowd gathered on the Trolley to be transported to the Shoreliner property. This new addition to the property features "tiny houses" or park models that can sleep up to eight. Several of the houses face the beach area. The group also toured the renovated rooms in motel. When asked about the perception that it costs a lot to stay on the property, Jake replied that there are many different types of accommodations on the property from the Shoreliner models, to hotel room, cottage, campsites and condos. Each has a separate rate and occupancy limit. He suggested that people should look on the website to see the real rates - https://www.thegrandregal.com/home

Jenna Hilton ended the tour with a look at the refreshed "Wake Shop" and pointed out the new items to enhance the day at the beach.
